Moved to Beijing for language immersion. Tried to get a job teaching English but wasn't getting hired because his name is Chinese and they want foreigners, even if Europeans that don't speak English well, just having a white teacher is a boon, so he changed his name on the applications to "David", and instantly got many offers. Showed a difference side of racism, not evil.
Moved to Singapore for 6 years, 2012-2018, that's where we met at some event, and he worked for PWC where he met his wife. She's Taiwanese from South Africa, because there was a connection between those two places.
Lived in Shanghai since, and he's doing an AI startup, and doing meetups.
