Derin Emre
Crazy mix-up.
Last night before our meeting, Derin accidently clicked to cancel our 5pm meeting.
So I deleted him from my calendar.
Then I asked Fermín, who was going to come at 7pm, to come at 5pm instead.
Since I only know people by email, not looks, Derin arrived and I thought it was Fermín!
We left the meeting point and went across the street for a drink.
We talked for an hour before I saw a text from Fermín saying he’s been there at the original meeting point, waiting for me.
So I had to turn to the guy I’d been talking to for an hour and say, “Uh... who are you?”
He said Derin Emre.
Since he was deleted from my calendar, I knew nothing about him.
He didn’t know he had accidently cancelled, and came at 5pm as planned.
Then Fermín joined us.
Then immediately after, my friend Claudia from Mexico who lives in Netherlands, who I also asked to come early since by now I thought all my meetings would be done.
So instead of the four of us sat around and talked about life.
