His father went bankrupt 15+ years ago so the court (and his mother) said his options are either to go jail or Dakar Senegal to sell Turkish chocolate.
So his dad moved to Senegal, has 7 cars, successful in business, but selfish, and just yesterday divorced his mother.

His mother is a great person and inherited real estate from her dad, but her brother got 75% of it and lost it all gambling.
Then his dad just recently used the joint-marriage documents to sell the other 20% and take the money for himself, so now his mother has only 5% left and is devastated but financially OK.

Dad made him move to Dakar to work in the business and while there learned some French and sold chocolate and at one point went to a desert village with a guy and his dad said he won’t survive, but he ignored him and went but the guy that drove him there ”forgot” to bring enough petrol or oil to return, so he was stuck there and couldn’t eat for days but water arrived and eventually a ride back when petrol arrived a week later.
So he didn’t eat that week.
