Have you seen Lady Gaga doing “Killah” on SNL? Watched three times in a row. So so so good, the creativity of the backstage locations, the two dancers, her facial expressions, hitting the cymbals, everything. Badass. Go see it.

Sometimes my head is metaphorically up, listening, reading, taking in new information.

Sometimes my head is metaphorically down, focusing, working, finishing what I started.

Right now my head is down, working. Just focused. Not even reading any new books.

summer holidays are over

January in New Zealand is like August in Europe. Middle of summer. Everyone on vacation. We had a month and a half of summertime fun in rivers, beaches, and forests. Cycling, camping, playing.

Summer holidays have now ended. Last month my boy started his first day of high school.

the “box” cabin progress

Because I mentioned it on Tim Ferriss’ podcast, people ask about my 4×8m cabin. It’s created by Bode, like this, super-insulated, and was brought to my site in December. I’m not living there yet, since there’s no electricity or water yet.

Now building a shed to house the electrical panels, then electricity will be on in a few weeks. Collecting rainwater in a big tank, occasionally pumping up to a smaller tank up the hill for gravity water pressure. The composting toilet is here, for the future outhouse.
